My name is Eddie Wharton. I am a student at the George Washington University studying Finance and Technology because I am fascinated by the intersection of the two. My initial interest in venture capital / startups came from a summer internship in Israel at Jerusalem Venture Partners. My other professional experiences include being an Associate at the White House (yes, I saw Obama; no, we are not friends now), Capstone Strategic (an investment bank) and the Washington Wizards. I am also the manager for the DJ’s Nick&Andres. It turns that building successful artists is hard and quite similar to building a successful company.
The purpose of this blog is for me to write about three topics: Unicorn Hunting (trying to find and invest in $1 Billion+ companies), life insights (people management and productivity hacks) and startups or industries that I find interesting. I am doing this because writing and sharing my thoughts helps me crystalize, articulate and refine them. That is helpful to me. Writing about companies and industries will also help me refine my thoughts, but even more helpful is the discussion that might be triggered by them. That is also helpful to me. If I can be helpful to you, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fun Fact: I have lived in New York, Barcelona, Jerusalem and Washington, DC.
